My 10 pound dog with four teeth eats everything from chicken necks to hogsheads. Surely there is a bone in there somewhere they are comfortable with.

There are lots of options for bones.

 

Family is the hardest to deal with. You were right a chicken neck would help, pork ribs are not too big they would give her a work out! Don't argue with family but it is sad that the little dog pays the price. Maybe for Christmas you can buy her a couple of duck necks.

 

Buster was 2 lbs when I brought him home and he ate chicken drummies and wings with no problems.

 

Are they just using the bones for cleaning teeth or for a meal? A tiny dog could gnaw on any size bones as a rec bone, just for teeth cleaning, as long as they weren't planning on it being a meal. They could use beef ribs or pork ribs. If they are planning meals, that would be an entirely different situation.

Well my 4 and 6 pound chis eat deer ribs. I don't mean chew off the ends, I mean eat. They eat a chicken neck a few days a week. So I'm siding with you here. My girls have had chicken legs, turkey wings, People just don't think they can handle but oh they can!

Why don't people give little dogs the credit they deserve? When it comes to recreational/teeth cleaning bones, any larger bone is acceptable. Pork neck, beef rib, goat head, etc. Why do people insist on babying little dogs? They have sharp pointy teeth too and I bet they know how to use them.

 

Nope. Your family is wrong in this instance.
