We have given our dog some veal brisket bones and he loves them. But, we have noticed that most of the bone comes out in his stool. When we started with the chicken, some bone came out but now he absorbs them. Has anyone had experience with brisket bones? Will he start to absorb them like the chicken bones?

the longer i feed raw, the better bones digest....there are some, even now, that come out, but rarely.

chicken has the softest of bones, along with cornish game hens and quail.....

much depends on which bones....for instance, i have some pork necks. my collie, the power eater, goes through them like they are gum drops.

and he will pass them on occasion.....the same with some pork bones.....i imagine, that as he gets older and his digestive system matures, the acids and enzymes in his gut will take care of business. :)

The longer you feed raw, the better your dogs body will be able to digest them. Some bones just take a little longer than others.

I think some bones just pass. I gave my dogs bison tail. Dozer completely passed his and he has been raw fed for over a year now. I think some just pass, possibly new types of bone? He normally digests beef tail and every bone on a deer. As long as it has passed and he is healthy and acting normal, no worries. It just happens. Just keep an eye on his poop because while it does happen, its not normal if he does it every single time.
