There is a very good argument for Evo being one of the best mass produced dog foods on the market today. They use high quality ingredients in all of their formulas, and refrain from using grains, fillers or by-products.

We are concerned about this future of this product since the company was recently bought by Proctor & Gamble.

Hello, i have two Great Danes. I got them both from a breeder, and both came from a very healthy line of show Danes. My male is named Wade and my female is named McKayla. Both are beautiful and healthy. I feed them a raw diet with EVO when we cant get enough raw meat from the butchers down town. And it works so good!! I fed them Innova Puppy Chow with a little of raw meat to get them used to it and EVO and Innova are great together!! Now i have three Danes. My new female that i rescued. She too ate a raw diet but she needs and extra boost of other meats that i cant get her like the fish, so i feed her the fish in your other EVO food, the buffalo, and sunflower oils, stuff that i cant get in the regular meat i give them. And now she is a healthy 12 yr old Dane!!

i have 3 pitbulls (2-2yr olds and a 4yr. old) that developed severe tartar and plaqe build up on their upper back teeth, over the course of 5 months of feeding EVO red meat formula.(large bites)
(i noticed this because I check their teeth regularly and have seen this)
prior to FEEDING EVO their teeth were CLEAN AND WHITE.

other wise i loved the food, but due to this problem i am changing their food.
My 14 year old pit (raised on a lesser food..nutro) (he NEVER HAD EVO)
he recently passed away...BUT with "CLEAN TEETH"

When I had my Boxer we started feeding her this. It was amazing how much muscle mass she gained after switching her! We had her on Nutro large breed and after all the problems with ingredients from China and recalls we wanted to switch her to something we could trust was safe. We'd had trouble getting her to pack on weight with the other food. She weighed around 47 pounds and was still too skinny with her high activity level and having lived the first few months of her life undernourished and neglected before being rescued. She also tended to not eat all of her food. Wasn't a problem with this at all. And to see the weight come on and the change in her body was amazing! I would highly recommend this food. We eventually had to switch from it only due to the fact that I had so much trouble finding it in my area and the cost. But, even with the cost it was worth it. I just wish it had been easier to find. And the one place I could find it anymore didn't carry enough stock so it was hit or miss with getting when I would go. She ended up getting up to over 60 pounds, a lot of which was muscle mass. I don't think that ever would have happened with her previous food. The cost of this food is worth it.

After my 7 year old Border Collie was diagnosed with what we thought was Irritable Bowel Syndrome, he was changed to a chicken and rice only diet. He was on the prescription diet for about 4 months and there was absolutely no improvement and he lost approximately 18 pounds. I purchased a bag of Evo Red Meat Formula as a despirate attempt to get some nutrition in and the difference was amazing! Within one week of adding the Evo to his diet, my Border Collie was vomiting less, suffering from less diarrhea and his energy level had increased. He has been on only Evo for the last 3 months and he has gained back his weight and then some.

Hi, I have two English MAstiffs age 20 months, one Cane Corso pup siz months and St. Bernard mix, 12 years old. I started feeding EVO when the mastiffs turned almost 1 year old- what a change! Finally, their bodies shaped and muscle came on. Attila was not able to put more body mass before. Now, our pup "steels" from the big guys, he LOVES it. We are mixing it for now with NOW , grain free adult, just to slow doen his growth at this stage., I can't wait for another few onths when I would start the small guy on 100% EVO just as the big guys. My old girl did awasome on EVO for a while, especially being a diabetic...but her activity level is very low an she started gaining weight, so we had to switch her to Senior Formula (NOW). I am very happy with EVO, dogs eat it like pros! Would highly recommend this food.

I got my Toy Poodle from the SPCA. She seemed healthy, but pretty skinny. I noticed that her coat seemed dull and wiry. I did some research online and determined that she was lacking fat and protein in her diet. I ran this by my vet and he agreed completely. It was a little difficult to find the Evo dogfood, and it is pricey, but now my dog has a glossy, soft coat and looks very healthy. She is not skinny anymore, and her muscle tone looks great.

I received a "FREE BAG" coupon so I chose EVO RED MEAT for my 4 yr old chiuahua and he throws up less, has less poop and he has more energy. I also received samples of Purina ONE and decided to give him the sample, just to get rid of it....he slept 20+ hours!!! so i threw the ONE away and now he is only on Red Meat Formula. And for the people with danes, how the heck do you afford to feed them? lol i would LOVE one but i feel they would cost more to feed then myself lol

I'm on the fence about this company. I've read reviews on this site about P&G purchasing Evo and using lesser quality products in their food causing all sorts of issues in all types of dogs. We've purchased a Vizsla and she's currently being fed Evo Red Meat small bites but I'm worried about what it's doing to her kidneys? Any suggestions?

I tried this food because reviews claim it is more natural and therefore more healthy for your dog, it also gives a satisfaction guarantee. Well, the food made my dog sick! (caused puking, muscle spasms) So I clipped the proof of purchase and mailed in my receipt as the guarantee asked. I got a coupon in the mail for a small bag of food! For one, the coupon is for a smaller bag of food. Two, I requested a refund....why would I give the same food to my dog and make him sick? I called customer service and they said you can only get refunds from the retailer! Ok, now that you took my receipt how do I do that? The customer service for Evo was unhelpful and was not able to help my situation. Apparently it is not a true satisfaction guarantee.

I have three American PitBull Terriers that i got from a rescue center. I feed them EVO and i honestly think its the best dog food out there. I also run a two-story high PitBull rescue with 10 acres just for them. I feed them all EVO never had a problem with this food. And let me tell you all my dogs at the rescue have muscled up! BIG TIME! but they are all very healthy and beefy thanks to this food :)

the thing is with ANY dog you must find exctly how much to feed them. if yournot sure just go to the vet and ask them to give advice on how much to feed. feed too much of this food and no doubt it may cause problems. but ive been feeding my pits and my pits at the rescue the right amount and they r AMAZING! (all pits are fixed)

I got a sample of Evo Red Meat Smal bites. I've read reviews about it and everybody loves it so I tried it for my yorkie 7 mths and after 3 days mixing it with his food he had bad diarrhea, bloody diarrhea that I had to take him to the ER. He had tried different foods before and nothing like this happen. I will never try EVO again!!!

I had heard about EVO product in past, I switched over from another all natural dog food brand. The results are WAY better, my lab pit mix has gained healthy weight, his chest is more broad, and most important his stool is smaller and more solid. He digest it well, and ironically doesnt not eat as much as fast. GR8 product!

OK, I have called Natura/PG about their EVO Red Meat formula. They said nothing has changed, not their ingredients, or supplies, nothing.

This Dog chat forum list the ingredients for this product.(June 18th 2010)

Beef, lamb meal, potatoes, sunflower oil, buffalo, lamb, venison, hearing oil, natural flavors, apples, carrots, tomatoes, alfalfa sprouts, cottage cheese, potassium chloride, vitamins, minerals, dried chicory roots and direct-fed microbial.

The bag I have lists of ingredients has eggs and beef cartilage listed. So either there was a change or who ever put the ingredient list up for this forum made a mistake. ( can somebody check into this for me? ) My dog with chicken/egg allergies has been having yeasty ear problems and his white is changing to a red color. I have seen this change in my dog happen over the last 8 months.

I've been feeding Evo for three months to my 9 year old 5lb miniature pinscher and my 1 year old 70 lb Doberman without any trouble.

My dogs possess no known food allergies, and a careful mixture of raw food/bone meal and evo has been producing fantastic results in their body condition, coat, and energy levels.

I'm concerned about this company being purchased by P&G, and will be watching ingrediant lists closey, but for now, the proof is in the pudding for me, and I'll keep using this food.

I started my 2 yr. old American Bulldog Female the Evo Red Meat Formula, after 2 weeks it has been a constant allergic reaction. Skin bumps, very red skin and always scratching. I was told that this is the best protein formula for active dogs, but my dog is an in-house dog, not much activity except the long daily walk and the park in the weekends.
Before I was feeding a Lamb diet (natural) from an unknown source and she was fine, and I thought this EVO would be better, but not with my dog.

Has anyone else have experienced this?

I have a rescue standard poodle and I have been feeding her EVO red meat formula for two years. She is thriving on it, before she belched alot, had a sensiitive stomach and her digestion was poor. Now she is exubrant high energy and her coat iss beautiful. But I am concerned about the change in ownership. I now have to order my dogfood because all the places here refuse to stock it. one store said that they would not carry it because P&G was refusing to list ingredients, has anyone else heard this?
