What is your meal plans?

I just thought it would be nice to have examples of meal plans, either a weekly or monthly, for people new to raw. So they can see how meals look like after transition. Make sure to list supplements and anything else you give your little carnivores. Also maybe some veteran of raw feeding might pick up ideas from other vets too. We all learn something in the end. Or you just read or post for curiosity sake. lol

Edit: even if you dont have a set plan, please post examples of a meal then. :D

Love it!

I guess technically I should still be transitioning, at 3 months in, but at this point, we're pretty much on all red meats.

At the moment, our main source of meat is hearts. I'd say that's about 75% of his 80% meat.

So, this week, the menu consists of:
Lamb Heart
Ox Heart
Ground Kangaroo (I only use a big spoonful of ground to mix his supplements into, otherwise he leaves them at the bottom of the bowl)
Beef Liver
Lamb Liver
Lamb Kidney
Canned Sardines
Chicken Feet - one each morning, for joint health
Chicken Necks - about 1/day, when I feed organs, mainly because I have a heap in the freezer that need to be used up!

Supplements:
Coconut Oil daily
ACV daily
Salmon Oil on days he doesnt get fish

I have some roo tail bone pieces that he gets occasionally, usually either as a special meal or if I haven't defrosted anything, he gets one frozen.

One night a week, when we have obedience class, he has a meal of small pieces of boiled chicken as training treats.

I tried to feed him rabbit, and it took him three days to eat it, and it was very expensive, so no more rabbit for him!

The only thing I'm thinking I might try to add is some extra fat, if I can get just fat scraps from the butcher. Going to look into it this week. Otherwise, I'm really happy with his diet as is. Obviously, it varies occasionally, but that's basically the gist of it!

Well I just mix it up, this am my dogs at rabbit, with organs, fresh whole sardines, beef heart, tripe. yesterday they ate chicken, pork hearts, eggs with some tripe and chicken organs. Other days they get beef, tripe, chicken, or turkey some beef kidney or liver or lamb organs. I put some nupro on there food sometimes and I use probiotics. I didn't think they needed it and they don't but I take them and they do wonders for me soooooo I give it to them.

We don't have a set plan. It depends on what we have in the freezer. I think most of us feed that way. We all do have our few things that we do regularly though.

The things I do on a regular basis are:

One big chunk of liver per dog every three days
One small chunk of kidney per dog every two days
One egg per dog every day
One meal of sardines a week per dog when I have them
Once I get my fish oil and coconut oil they will be given one pump per day (salmon oil will wait until the sardines are gone)

Meals here are always different. Last month I was had lots of chicken so they were getting either chicken quarters or a section from a cut up whole chicken. We have a regular supplier of beef heart so Buck gets mostly beef heart while Dude gets mostly chicken because he does better on poultry.

This month I have beef and elk scrap so they get that every third day or so (Too much bone to feed every day). I also have quite a few turkey necks so Dude gets those to get some variation in his proteins.

Next week I will be getting my sardines so they will both be getting their once a week fish meals.

We don't have a set plan. It's basically a mixture of whatever proteins I take out of the freezer. I have a lot of boneless red meat so the dogs get -

Chicken - thighs, backs, wings, legs, quarters, breast...for bone content

Duck carcasses for bone too.

Beef

Venison

Deer ribs for bone

Ground elk

Pork fat

Pork

Chicken liver

Beef kidney

Sprocket had his mixture of kidney, liver, elk, and egg

The weekly meals consist of a variety of those meats.

Whatever I take out of the freezer to dethaw will be dinner for the next couple of days. I try to have enough bone (usually from chicken) as my dogs need bone every meal.

Right now I have defrosting: a whole chicken, a couple of beef chuck roasts, turkey necks, ground turkey, and some random venison fillets.

What else is in the freezer at the moment? beef kidney, beef heart, various chicken (whole, leg quarters, split whole) ground venison, venison rump roast.

I am getting antsy about refilling the freezer now. I can almost see the bottom :(

This week my pups will have:
beef heart
duck gizzards
pork kidney
chicken and pork liver
venison
pork ribs
beef roast
turkey leg

I have been given tons of free beef so they will be eating a lot of beef for the foreseeable future.

Yay! I'm so happy people are posting! I remember when I started it was hard to find examples without going through tons of threads. SO I hope these post will help newbies.

Bella is fed once a day and she had these the past week:

Chicken thigh & kidney
Beef Heart,chicken wing & liver
pork rib & liver
Turkey breast with one small chicken wing, kidney, 1 small egg
Oxtail and gizzard
pork brisket, chicken wing, & kidney
Chicken thigh & gizzard

The weekly meal above is a special meals. I went shopping and saw all the yummy stuff at the Asian store. And since that week I was shopping for her I got the stuff.
Normally when I'm, busy and dont plan ahead, I feed her chicken thigh or leg and pork ribs. Mostly still frozen. Bella need a little bit of bone every meal so a small bit of chicken wing or whatever bone I thawed.

Other things I feed her:
Tilapia
whiting
sardines
rabbit
lamb
pork tenderloin
pork neck
duck neck
chicken backs
chicken feet
Pigs feet
beef rib
beef (I dont feed this often because she doesnt care for beef that much cooked or uncooked)

I havent been able to try deer yet. I will probably have to wait till hunting season. Hopefully I can find someone here with extra meat or if I visit my parents, hopefully my father gets a deer. I also wanted to try more exotic meat, like bison, elk and Roo! But it would be too expensive to get roo. Maybe if I move there. lol

Supplements:
Fido Vite Flex powder supplement (every couple of days)
plain greek yogurt (every other day)
salmon oil (every other day or so if not having fish)
coconut oil (small bit everyday, sometimes none if the meat is a little fattier then normal)
Animal fat

I've been thinking of trying ACV but I need to read more into that.

I know some people are like why so much supplement? I figure since I take supplements for my health, Bella should too. I'm a doggie mom that prefers to be safe. And she looks so much better when she takes the powder supplement. She also still gets heartworm pills and vaccinations, same reason as above and also so she can go to daycare and playgroups.

okay. I think I got everything.

You guys put way too much thought into your dogs meals! LOL Mine eat whatever they get pulled out of the freezer...And, I believe that Leo won't do well on the ground Guinea hen I just got for variety as he tried to up chuck it an hr. after I left for work this morning. :(

I never put any thought really into what I pull out, reach in and pull out! There that's breakfast or here that's dinner! Well, of course unless the dogs poo starts getting runny then I need to give more bone..LOL

The Freezers consist of some calf, venison meat, venison heart, lamb from the lamb I just bought for the dogs....so spoiled! goat, rabbit, lamb liver, bison liver, bison kidney, beef liver, lamb necks, duck necks, turkey necks lamb breast, pork ribs, duck wings, duck hearts, chicken feet, ground buffalo, ground guinea hen, and tripe, wonderful tripe!..And tomorrow I have cases of lamb heart, pork heart, (which I've never fed before) and lamb spleen coming...YAY

White Leo. I try not to over think it. BUT I always have to have bone. I cant just feed whatever meat I find in the freezer. If there is no bone (mainly from chicken) Sargeant and I are going to have a rough night. Also, like myself, I think some are curious as to what others feed. Thats why I like the raw feeding picture thread. I like visuals.

No, I do understand that...But, there will come a time when you'll also say to other people, don't over think it...LOL

I have a schedule posted on the freezer to prevent the phone calls asking me what to take out for dog food  Otherwise it would be way more random. Anyway this is what Deeks eats:

Monday: AM: Bone-in Duck PM: Beef Heart
Tuesday: AM: Beef Muscle Meat PM: Herring
Wednesday: AM: Chicken Quarter PM: kidney and liver (usually either beef or duck)
Thursday: AM: Turkey Neck with an Egg PM: Lamb Heart and Tripe
Friday: AM: Beef Heart PM: Herring
Saturday: AM: Turkey Neck and Egg PM: Ground Venison or Moose OR some sort of larger carcass for the day (he had a turkey caracass this weekend) at some point in the middle of the day
Sunday: AM: Chicken Quarter PM: kidney and liver

If I'm home to take food out then it gets switched up, but my dad likes to take it out right at noon and I'm usually at work/school at noon. Also, it changes based on the meat I have available but those are what I buy regularly. When I get wild moose and venison in the fall, he eats a lot of it.

ETA: for supplements he gets coconut oil when i remember to give it to him (usually 3-4 times a week). He cannot have salmon oil so I make sure he gets his fish.

Mine changes all the time. For example, if I thaw out a 15-20lb Turkey they are going to get a lot of turkey that week, lol I am not big on refreezing.

I try to feed a different protein per meal and when I feed a bone in meal my next meal is usually boneless. This morning I fed:

AM: Turkey Legs PM: Ground Lamb

Tomorrow

AM: Turkey Breast PM: Pork Ribs
