Well I haven't been around much lately, but finally got some time to poke around...anyway I meant to post this a bit ago but got busy. So here goes...

If anyone remembers on the Answers raw thread about a month ago I said I got a sample. Well I tried mixing it in...big mistake. He literally only had .4 oz of carbs a day and it changed him. First, I noticed runny eyes and thought maybe it was a slight detox (it had fermented tea in it that is supposed to be detoxing) and the veggies were good. Well then he started getting itchy and his ears gt slightly yeasty. He scratched at them so much he created a hystiocytoma. (He also had green poos, lovely.) He rubbed the color off the front part of his nose too. After I immediately cut out the patties. Within a week he was back to normal! The bump scanned over and fell off earlier this week.

Lessons learned, 1. even if you get curious about switching it up, just stick to PMR and 2. Duke does NOT need veggies ever again! And we've now been on raw for 8 months, best decision I ever made, even when I don't feel like prepping food! He's never looked better and he's healthy on the inside and out now!

Im with Losech. All premades just worry the heck outta me. Especially when certain ingredients don't have to be labeled O.O

I am glad your problem was easily solved by removing the new source.

I couldn't believe it either! I didn't think such a small amount of additive could change him so much. For being the 2013 Pet Food of the Year or something like that for Susan Thixton I got excited to try it, but definitely not a good idea.

And to anyone who feeds BARF, I just want to say I'm not bashing it, just something that definitely didn't work for Duke or me!

if ever i want Liz to back off, i just wave broccoli at her LOL

there are some pre mades that are well made....but few and far between, though darwin's, though barf, would have been a good choice.

when i need a ground, i order from hare today or my pet carnivore....they have grounds that are well made....i have my malia who is getting tired, so she is now on a ground.

i'm not buying a grinder, so hare today and my pet carnivore and some others gives me variety and an all in one food.....sans veggies.

The recalls is one of my main reasons in going raw. How many times do you see raw mest getting recalled? Amd even thrn. Raw fed dogs can handle the bacteria it's being recalled for. That and your dog can eat almost anything. Going hunting? Save those innards for the dogs!
