When we adopted Luigi, he was presented as a pit bull, but his surrender form listed him as mom, castillo bred apbt, dad 1/2 pit bull 1/2 english mastif. I assumed it was all nonsese, people who buy and then surrender puppies are assholes and generally full of it..... that said, as Luigi aproaches 3 he seems more and more mastify.... maybe it's true? He is also big for a pit mix, 78 pounds, and has more stretchy neck skin... thinkinking i need to learn more about mastifs

So, i looked back at his surrender form, it would make him 1/8 mastif, it would have been a great grandparent claimed as mastif, of course could still al be made up, too...
Not that I'm biased or anything :wink: but a bit of mastiff blood in your mix adds a little special magic... :becky:

I'm only on my first one so not much help. Marlo just wants to please me and be with me at all times. She's not at all dog aggressive so not sure if she is typical or not.
Could be, would account for his size. I think my brindle girl is possibly an American Bulldog mix rather than APBT because she is big for a female, has a giant head and so much extra skin/jowls. It's hilarious to play with though.
