My name is Joshua and I am here to hopefully learn more about canine nutrition. I currently have a whippet and a greyhound. Right now I am feeding both Orijen kibbles. While it is considered a good food, it is quite expensive and my dogs probably don't get the exercise they should be getting with that high of protein intake.

I work full time Monday through Friday and I leave for work at 8am and normally don't get home till roughly 7pm. In case you were wondering, I do have a dog door where they have access to a 6 foot fenced in yard while I'm gone. With all the hours I work, I don't exercise them as often as I would like. A good week would be getting tothe dog park (which is about 10 acres) 3 times for a total of 4 to 5 hours. I do live alone, so it is all me to take care of them. I don't mind since they are like my kids (along with my two cats :) ).

Overall, I am looking for something healthy for them that is mostly or completely natural, but is also reasonably priced. With the hundreds of brands and "flavors", this is no small feat in choosing one. Hopefully by reading some threads and with some advice, I can find one that both me and my dogs benefit from.

Thanx for reading my long winded introduction and I will see you all around.

Welcome to another Wisconsinite! Real quick: people here are big fans of the Costco/Kirkland brand as a budget-friendly high-quality option, but I'm not sure whether Kirkland was caught up in the recent food scares. Someone in the dry foods section will know. Good luck!
