Hello everyone,

My name is Angel. I am a certified Animal Care Technician, Dog Nutritionist and Dog Trainer from Ontario, Canada. I currently have one 18 month old male German Shepherd out of West German working lines, who I train in Schutzhund and competitive obedience (he is also waiting to become a certified therapy dog!). Hunter will hopefully be the stud male of my future breeding program, if all goes well.

I am a raw feeder/future raw breeder, and I work part time helping people learn how to feed raw correctly and how to do it cheaply!

Awesome! Welcome aboard! I'm Stef, I live in Australia but I'm American, and my dog is Dobby, a nearly 2 year old corgi mix - also a PMR feeder!

Angel, I have a question, well a few questions, regarding GSD's and training; I've read somewhere that GSD's usually pick only one person as their master. Is this true? And how do they pick?Does this happen at a certain stage in their life or does it just develop as the dog gets older? A friend told me they usually pick the man in the house because they know the natural hierarchy, but the breeder again told me they pick the person who is working with them (training). Other people say they choose the person that is feeding them. What is you opinion on this?

Yes, German Shepherds are notorious for choosing someone to which they can become a shadow. Hunter chose me, and I assume it is because of the following reasons:
1. I spent the first week home with him.
2. I train him, and we train competitively for Schutzhund and Obedience
3. I feed him everyday.
4. I walk him, take him with me and do everything imaginable with him.
5. My husband really only plays with him occasionally in the house and cuddles with him when he feels like it.
6. Everything in Hunter's life revolves mostly around me.
