i have a poop question.
yesterday i stuffed some raw sweet potato in his kong and he ate a few chunks not a ton but some.
today his dinner consisted of pork ribs and and a few sardines.
hes used to eating these with no problems but today while walking eh went poo and i nticed the chunks of sweet potato and a thin film covering the stool. it was solid no soft but that film was..wierd never seen it before hes acting normal nothing wrong so i am wondering waht would cause that film?

or maybe im looking to deeply into this i was just worried it might be somthing bad?

Probably just some mucuous...nothing to worry about so long as he's acting normal.

In future, I'd cook the sweet potato before putting it in his kong. :) My two LOVE mashed sweet potato.

oh good! this prolly sounds gross that i know this but with humans mucus in the stoll is a very bad thing so it worried me.
yeh he had chunks of sweet potato in his stool.
he doesnt get it often and i figured raw was healthier.

Yep, like everyone said the mucous is not super bad or anything, it just means something irritated him. I've given my dogs sweet potatos before, and it always makes their poop super soft and I can always see orange hunks in it. Probably why I have not given them sweet potato in awhile, lol.

It all depends on the dog.

When a dog is more sensitive the no it shouldn't be added. But some dogs have have anything thrown at them and be perfectly fine!

like everybody else said, it's perfectly fine, they can't break heavy carbs like that down especially if they are raw, so they will pass them through and the bowel just kinda coats it as it would an irritant. crazy stuff.. goes to show what they were really meant to eat

Mine goes Bananas...for "steamed bananas" refrozen and then stuffed into his kong.
