Nature's Variety Prairie Beef or Canidae Beef and Fish or is there another grain inclusive beef flavor I should be looking at in this price range? Here they are around $ 1.50 per lb.

if you are looking for the one that is more beef based, id say its the NV. the Canidae's first true ingredient looks like ocean fish meal (though beef meal is listed 4th). i consider them both decent grain inclusive foods. i know Innova has the red meat foods, but not sure of the price (and again, beef not the primary meat)

I would definitely put Nature's Variety above Canidae. Canidae is manufactured by Diamond now and I have not been inpressed with Diamond or Canidae products. I've had great luck with Nature's Variety though.

I have been searching for a couple of friends and I have talked them both into Acana, changing one dog at a time.

Acana is definitely the way to go, if I fed kibble that would be the one I'd rotate with.

Both are now on Acana Pacifica.

One is now licking his bowl which he never did.

The other is transitioning as well but is eating only the Acana and leaving her old food in the bowl. Even dogs recognize quality!
