I finally have my freezer and I can order bulk! The only problem is, I'm still not sure what to get.
I'm sure on the fresh chicken quarters, but other than that, I'm a little overwhelmed.
I'm going to hold off on fish until I know how they react.

Pork boneless rib - 1.03 (sure! staple food)

whole Tilapia (with head) (40#) - 1.25 (only if your dogs will eat them...I would get one from a store and see what they do before getting a case)

I would set a price "limit" that you don't exceed. For bulk ordering I don't like to spend over $1 per pound, but you can set your limit to whatever :wink:

Pork kidneys are the perfect size IMO. Small enough to handle well and don't have to be cut up like the beef ones.

Pork liver is also the other thing that I would recommend getting over the other kinds. Beef liver comes in about 5-10 pound WHOLE pieces that you have to butcher up. VERY messy and a pain in the butt. Chicken kidneys are just really messy as well because they are just like slop, and since we have to shove organs down throats...well you get the picture! Pork livers are still rather big, maybe 3-5 pounds or so each, but are much easier to handle and cut up. The dogs seem to like pork liver and kidney more than the other kinds too...even though they still wont eat them voluntarily LOL.

If that is the price for whole turkeys that is still a good deal IMO. Its rare that whole turkeys are cheaper than that, but that is when you stock up. My guess is that these prices will fluctuate every time you call in. I would ask for the updated price list every time you call and order that way you are not ordering something that is usually pretty cheap but ends up being really expensive...I have had that happen. Sometimes beef heart is cheaper than others, etc. If so, I just order something different but similar. I usually spend ~15-20 minutes on the phone discussing meats with the people there. They also give us good deals on things that are more human appropriate. The last time we ordered they sold a 10 pound case of wild caught sockeye salmon for $5 per pound!

They aren't, I didn't even see that the first one is not frozen DOH! LOL

I just was reading through the list and looking at the item and price and saying yes or no to what you were looking at ordering. Both are good items to order, and I thought that the 40# case came frozen. IF it actually does come frozen, the 4 10# bags are much easier to deal with because they are already sectioned out for you into usable "portions" so they don't actually have to be thawed.
