Our 15 month old black lab has been on TOTW Pacific Stream since we rescued him in Jan 2010. His coat is always glossy. Our vet, vet staff and those that encounter him on our outings are always commenting on how shiny his coat looks and his overall healthy appearance. He always has enough energy to keep up with our 11 month old boxer. Much to our dismay, the boxer does not do well on this food. However, after 9 months of searching, we have finally found a premium food that her digestive system tolerates well.

I disagree with Samantha regarding the cost of TOTW. The price is very reasonable for a high quality food. In fact, TOTW is priced lower than many of the other premium foods in our area.

GREAT food and easily digested. It has less protein than the others, so it is better for the kidneys.

The price is very reasonable and it is the least expensive food for the high quality you get.

I have been feeding this food to my dogs for a few years and in general I am very pleased with it. However, I just opened a fresh bag and found two pieces of machined aluminum inside the bag. One semi-circular piece about 3/4 inch in diameter and 3/8 inch wide and another flat piece about 3/8 X 2 inches. Very strange. Have there been any other reports like this?

After my female miniature schnauzer Jaina gave birth, she became antisocial and lethargic, not wanting even human company. Since the transition, she is energetic, playful and once again social. I feel as though I have my 'puppy' back again. All four of my schnauzers' coats have improved and they spend their days racing one another through the yard making me laugh at their antics. Jaina is usually leading the chase Additionally, I spend less time pooper scoopering because their bodies are using all of the food instead of getting rid of it.

The Taste of the Wild website has a statement on the FAQ section guaranteeing that the food is ethoxyquin free.....its in a section called "does this food contain ethoxyquin"

This is an excellent food and such a reasonable price for what I consider a top tier dog food. I recently changed my dogs over to this from Orijen because I have lab who tends to over eat and smaller portions turn him into a crazy beggar. Orijen is awesome and he will go back on that food in rotation but it has a lot more calories - even the senior version is 35 more calories per cup than this food at 360 per cup....

Our 2 year old Saint Bernard has been fed Taste of the wild pacific stream for about 6 months now. He has MANY allergy problems, which seemed to diminish greatly if not end completely on this food until the last bag we purchased. We noticed the size of the kibble was a little bit smaller and a tiny bit lighter in color!!! His allergies went crazy within two weeks time while nothing else in his environment has changed, nor in his diet. It is winter here in MN and He is now blowing his coat horribly, chewing on his feet with scabs inbetween each toe, and itching like crazy.
The TOTW website does not seem to show any ingredient changes for this food but we can't help but wonder if they did!!
Has anyone else had this problem? or similar problems recently??

We bought two bags of the wild pacific and noticed the same changes you mentioned. We also wondered about a formula change. We felt the change in color was very noticeable and it no longer has the fish smell. We thought the fish smell was a positive sign of fish oil being used. We have two one year old black labs and since using the new bags we are noticing less shine in their coats. I would like to know what they have changed. I don't want to pay for high quality ingredients if they are not going to use them.

I have an american bulldog puppy 3 months in age. She is a bug girl @ 27 pounds @ 3 months but my question is about TOTW for a large breed puppy. I have tried her on many foodg like pedirgee was what the breeder had her o and I switched her to authority which worked well.....but the gas was horrible. So when I took her to Pets Mart they had Nutro Max large bree puppy o sale and I decided to give it a try. What a waste of $45 cause she wouldnt even touch it! I ended up giving it to a friend with a farm dog that eats everything. I am now feeding hwer Iams pro smart puppy for large breed and she doesnt like it either, I have been supplimenting her diet with 1 baked boneless skinless chicken breast each day. My question is this since TOTW is the highest rated kibbe I can afford and is All Life Stages is it safe for my bulldog and which recipe would be best for my not so little baby?

I am a Breeder of Miniature Australian Shepherds and I have been feeding our Aussies the ToTW Pacific Stream dog food for over a year now. They love it and they always have plenty of energy. Their coats are always shiny as well.

I noticed the change in color and size of the food in the last bag that I purchased at our local Tractors Supply so I called the ToTW 800 number. The lady I spoke with said that they don't put any dyes in the food so the color might vary from bag to bag. She also said that the size of the kibble can change at times because they change the "plates" every so often.

I haven't noticed any change in our Aussies' digestion so I have no reason to believe that they changed any of the ingredients. It seems to be the same quality dog food as it was when I first started buying it over a year ago.

Good stuff and I highly recommend it.

We live on a ranch and have two dogs - a border collie mix and a cairn terrier, both rescues. We have been through ALL of the high-end dog foods, and they don't like them. They'll ignore them until they're starving, then grudgingly eat it. I tried TOTW Pacific Stream, and they both DIVED into it! They clean their bowls almost every time. Dandruff and itching have almost vanished, and they're both more energetic and in happier moods. This is a great, great dog food, very healthy, high in protein, and completely grain-free. We hope and pray it never goes off the market.

I have a Female American Bulldog 80lbs she's about 4yrs old we've had her for about one year now the previous owner used her for breading we think? and she had two litters. We noticed she was shedding a aw full lot and her skin was quite pink.She scratch allot and licked her paws and would get sores and would get hot spots and blister like sores that would scabbed up and would become a balled spot that would becomes juicy.

Also her tummy would be rashy looking and she would just love her belly rubbed with the palm of your hand. when rubbing her belly i couldn't see any blisters but her skin was Orange or rashy anyways your hand would get moist from rubbing her belly like there was ting blisters or something causing wetness when rubbing her. She's a white coat dog.

The previous owner fed her Costco dog food the Kirkland in a green bag. I bought the same one until i notice her dry skin and problem with shedding. When we first got her we didn't noticed the skin problem, we just noticed she shed allot and thought it was do to spring time approaching and she was losing her winter coat, but by summer she was still shedding allot and her coat seam to be too thin, this is also the time she started getting the sores and hot spots.

so we change the food the innova and with in a week or so she grew a nice thick soft shiny white coat and hardly shed at all, but she would still get the hot spots sores and her coat and skin seam oily. so i started mixing her Costco food with the innova 50/50 soon after that she started losing fur again and the rash and pinkish orange skin came back with her scratching and licking her pawls...the innova seam to stop the shedding and gave her a shiny coat but she still would get the hot spots, I don't know if it was a combination of the food and the hot summer or what? I also gave her skin-eze that was a waste of $80 because it didn't do anything.

I have her on TOTW “Taste Of The Wild Pacific Stream Canine Formula” she just started it last night for dinner and I gave it to her for breakfast, I will feed her twice a day at the recommended daily amounts.. I'M crossing my fingers and hoping this dog food will work for her. I will update later on her progress.

I too have an american bulldog, she's a puppy at nearly 7 months now and the breeder we got her from had her on the Kirkland dog food as well. She had terrible allergies at the time and we knew it was food related so we took a shot on her. We started her off on blue buffalo and things would seem to clear up only to come back. So, we switched her off of BB and onto Nature's balance sweet potatoe and venison and low and behold her coat is fully and not more hot spots or rash. At this point, what we've gathered is that it has to be either chicken or rice so, we are sticking to proteins other than chicken and grain free food. TOTW Pacific stream will be next as i have access to it close to my house and its significantly cheaper than Nature's Variety as I am looking for a food with more protein than Nature's Balance provides. Anyhow, if she does well on TOTW we will rotate between Pacific stream and the Sierra Mountain TOTW formula's until she's a year old then we'll start adding the High Prairie as well a NV since they are so high in protein and calcium. I have an 18 month old Pit X Doggue de Bordeau. Had issues with runny stool and dragon breath for the longest time ... about 3-4 months ago we switched to TOTW High Sierra (Lamb).
His Stool is fine now, coat is good too and the dog is muscular and lean - now if only we could find something to cure the breath issue!
My dog specializes in peeling paint with his breath.

I have fed my Malitpoos TOTW Pacific Stream for over a year now. They love it and they have no coat or skin problems. One of them is a rescue who came to me with a severe case of Giardia which lets his digestive system very sensitive. The other has allergies. Both dogs had become overweight by a pound or two. I now give them 1/2 cup each twice a day. They both slimmed down and are healthy and full of energy. I also have a 8 month old Maltipoo puppy. I discovered that TOTW has a puppy food Pacific Stream has a little more protein. The puppy food is a little lighter in color and also is a much smaller size kibble. My puppy gets 1/3 cup three times a day. He has been on the puppy version for a month and he is growing like a weed. I also have no tear stain problems that white long hair breed usually have.

Our 4 year old Bouvier des Flandres was raised on Eukanuba Lamb and Rice, but starting about 2 years ago, he started having chronic vomiting and diarrhea episodes. Each subsequent vet visit revealed nothing, and knowing he had not ingested anything that would be causing this, we were all baffled. By December, he was having these episodes every week; each week, we would deal with very loose stools, and some vomiting for at least 1 day. He was lethargic and would not eat for a day, and then the very next day, he'd be back to his old Bouvier self. Starting the first week of January, we began the transition to TOTW Pacific Stream food, and also switched his dog treats to non grain varieties that have salmon and / or sweet potatoes. He has not had one vomiting or diarrhea episode at all since beginning his new diet. We are absolutely stunned that the case of his digestive issues was the food we were feeding him. We were the culprits by our own choice of food. I would highly recommend TOTW. Compared to our old dog food, this really costs perhaps a dollar or two more, so it is a very cost effective grain-free food. And Mr. Fezzywig LOVES it.

I have noticed this past bag or two that my wire haired Wheaten Terrier has horrible gas suddenly with diarhea, and is shedding, which he has NEVER done before.
I dont know what the sudden change is, but its interesting that others are noticing changes in their dogs that eat totw.
I have always been extremely happy with this food for my dog, but cant figure out why the change suddenly.
I hope they havent made a change to lower costs (like almost every other company is doing to their products these days), I would rather pay more and have the quality than have the quality lowered to keep the price the same.
