I have been feeding my 22 lb beagle a diet of Innova red meat kibble and adding some cooked beef to it. it includes 130 grams of kibble per day and 70 grams of cooked beef per day. 28.35 gram = 1 ounce.
My question is:
Am I losing some nutrition by letting the beef simmer for an hour to tenderize it? I also notice a change in weight of the beef after it was cooked. I started out with 1.18 lbs of fresh beef and ended up with 8.74 ounces of cooked beef. I used beef chuck. So 54% was mostly water and fat and I ended up with 46% edible beef.
So this might be a good reason to switch to raw or is it?

The PRO's: It would be more economical but less beef because of moisture content.
The CON's: The annoyance of defrosting the raw before feeding.
Your Thoughts?

Yes, why tenderize it? Dogs don't need tenderized meat.

There is no annoyance of defrosting before feeding. As you feed a meal, you take the next meal out of the freezer to be defrosting. It's no problem at all.
