Good afternoon!

I'm going to be transtioning my English bully from Purina One Lamb and Rice to Natural Balance LID Lamb and brown rice. Although his skin could be better, his coat is actually in decent shape on Purina One but I want him on a better, hypoallergetic food to hopefully clear up his skin allergies. My question is that I'm a bit worried that moving him to a food with a lower fat content will affect his weight gain. He's 8 months old and at a good weight on Purina One, which has 16% fat and 440 calories per cup. In contrast, the Natural Balance als is only 12% fat but has 470 calories per cup. Will I see a drastic change in his weight with this lower fat food or is it really all about the calories...?

It's about the quality of the food and Purina One is about as low quality as you can get. You are doing right in changing.
