How old is your pup and how much do you feed him? You CAN feed him human food, but have to know what is healthy and what is not.

If he begs, and you give in, he will ALWAYS, ALWAYS beg. He gets his way and therefore controls you. IMHO, I don't like Natural Balance too much. The ones I like alot are Orijen and Horizon. EVO was my favorite, but now that P&G bought it, I'm not so sure now. Hope this helps!!
about a yr and a month old i feed him twice a day plus sometimes some treats.
yea well me or my boyfriend havent gave him any human food but he like looks around our kitchen when we sit to eat for food. also i do give him this beneful full meal which he gos crazy for it
i have never hear of those brands how are those going for your doggies?

What kind of dog is he?

I don't feed Aspen kibble, but Orijen and Horizon are excellent high quality kibbles. If I were you, I would look around for something other than Beneful. It's a really low quality kibble...
i personally do not like Natural Balance.
most of their foods do not even have meat as the first ingredient.

but it is a whole lot better than beneful
I agree with Mal. There are much better quality kibbles out there than Natural Balance and Beneful. Out of the two that you mentioned, Beneful is by far the worst.

I would look into getting some higher quality foods. Even though they seem more expensive at first, you more than likely will end up feeding less than what you are now.

I would first look for these kibbles as they are the best of the best:
Orijen
Acana
Horizon

Next you could look at these kibbles if cost is a factor:
Taste Of The Wild
Canidae Grain-Free
Even the Costco brand food isn't too bad for the price

Have you ever thought of feeding RAW? If this is something that intrests you there are many people here that could help you get started.

I am sure others will be along and can offer some more advice and a few more foods to consider.

agreed, i like the costco brand too, but it has beet pulp :( other good dry kibbles include:

Nature's Variety Instinct
Nature's Variety Prairie
California Natural
Innova
Fromm
remind me, why is beet pulp so bad. just beacuse it is a cheap filler?
i would say if potato is good for your dog, then natural balance is good for your dog.

not only it is a cheap fiber alternative, but it hardens stool to hide the other lower quality ingredients that it is mixed with. It also contains saponins which may be hazardous, and it is an indigestible fiber.
