My parents have always had Danes like me. My Mom has always wanted a Irish Wolfhound so found one on a rescue sight threw the breeder. They got Gracie when she was 2 years old. She was very over weigt and shy. They had Gracie for 4 months when she started to limp so they took her to the vet. She had a small lump on her foot. The vets did tests and Gracie was positive for bone cancer. My parents where devastated. Gracie went down hill quickly in the next two months and my parents had her put down. In the 6 months that Gracie was at my parents house she had turned into a outgoing happy dog who had a family who loved her and a best friend, Simon my parents Dane. Its been a year since Gracie passed away and she is still missed!

I am really sorry to hear that. I can't even imagine having to put down a dog after such a short time! I don't even want to think about the day when mine get to that point. I know that the larger breed dogs really touch the soul and they are severely missed.
