Hi all, we're trying to prepare to start feeding raw at the end of this bag of Orijen and I just got an email from a guy about my CL post for old meats about 30-50lbs of "who knows" meat from a hog slaughter 5 years ago. IS this ok to feed? Also, since we don't really know what it is yet, anything I should avoid?

Thanks!

Is he giving it to you? If its free, I would take it and see what it is...If he wants you to buy it don't offer more than $.50 per pound for it.

As long as it has been frozen, it should be just fine. Maybe a little freezer burned but your dogs will still enjoy it

It really depends on if they fed it crap slop or grain.

I agree with danemama, if it's free, take it and see what they've got, but don't agree to pay much for it! The only things to avoid would be the intestines and bladder, as far as I can think of.
