Hi all,
My name is Donna and I live outside of Toledo, OH.
I have 6 dogs living here now: Buck,
a 14 years and 4 month old shepherd mix,
BeBe, an 11 1/2 yo beagle,
Oberle, a 7 1/2 yo English mastiff,
Gracie, a 5 yo English mastiff,
Frankie, a 17 mo English mastiff.
The 6th guy is my daughter's and since she will finish school in 3 months, we are grandsdog sitting until then. He is a blind 20 mo English mastiff.
I have owned 4 Newfoundlands in 27 years and I am truly a Newf fanatic. I hope to get another Newf in 2010. My last Newf died of cancer in 2008.
I have followed the advice of Whole Dog Journal and I change the dog food kibble with every bag. We use a 30-35 lb a week on the average.
I usually buy the recommended Whole Dog foods, but I will feed Purina Pro Plan when I see it on sale and I put that in the rotation.
I add supplements to foods as well, since one has mild hip displasia, and another has arthritis since he has had 2 TPLOs.
I am glad that I have found a forum that is interested in dog nutrition.
