My dog promptly turned up her nose when I gave it to her! She refused to eat it, and she will eat just about anything! Also, FRR is very hard to find in certain areas of the country. I found it in a privately owned pet supply store when I lived in the SE. Now I'm in the NW and I don't ever see it anywhere... not even in specialty pet supply stores.

I have been doing some research for a better brand dog food for my five dogs. They were on EVO and are currently on Taste of the Wild and raw fed. I decided to order a sample pack and 9 lbs. of the Dry/Water kibble.
The dog food looked good, it is still a lower quality food and my dogs are used to the higher quality foods and raw diets.
FRR had problems delivering my order. They shipped my order with only the city, state and zip printed on the shipping label, they later billed me for a $20 address correction fee.
FRR has some serious customer service problems as they we're not very helpful in providing a resolution to the whereabouts of my order.
I will be feeding my dogs Orijen/Acana foods. It's a shame they did this. FRR foods are not as high quality I was expecting it to be.

I started my Beagle on Flint River after I started reading up on dog foods and quality. I ordered the lamb and Millet and he eats it but isnt excited about it. I will say all his stomach issues stop when I started feeding the Flint River which makes me feel so much better but I like what I have read about Acana however I prefer one with some grains as I also tried Orijen and I noticed the dog was gassy maybe due to the high protein content. Everywhere I look for Acana, I only see the grain free type. Can anyone tell me where I go look to find the other Acana varities?
I was first introduced to FRR by my sheepdog trainer who had her entire kennel on it. I fed it to my Border Collie but because of the hassle of having to order it, I switched her over to Iams because i could pick it up in town. However, after adopting a Chihuahua with severe food allergies and trying everything under the sun, I went back to FRR. I put him on the Trout and Potato and 2 months later he was a different dog. The ear and eye infections stopped, the digestive issues went away, and his hair came back. I now have 2 Chihuahuas who alternate between the Duck and Oatmeal and the Trout and Sweet Potato, and an elderly Great Pyr who is on the FRR Senior Plus, and all are doing great. I also have our cats on FRR's cat food.

THE CLASSIC LINE IS...ONLY...SOLD IN CANADA. THEY SAID MAYBE ONE DAY THE CLASSIC WILL COME TO THE STATES BUT NO DATE IN MIND! ALSO THEY SAID THE CLASSIC LINE HAS MILK THISTLE AND THE USA WONT EXCEPT THAT IN DOG FOOD SO TO SELL HERE THEY WOULD HAVE TO CHANGE THEIR RECIPE.

My dog has been an extremely picky eater her entire life. We have tried everything from canned stuff (when she was a puppy and we didn't know any better), to many dry formulas, to grilled chicken and other human food. Even with the chicken, she still doesn't gobble it up, and we have a hard time getting her to eat. The only dry food we have ever had decent success with her eating is the FRR Senior Plus formula. She's been on this for about 7 years or so, even though she was not a senior when we started her on it. We did this since the glucosamine and chondroitin help her knees, which she had surgeries on when she was young, and she was a bit sore always after that, as a result. Anyway, we are happy with the fact that she will usually eat this dry food, and we like that her stomach has always seemed happy with it, too. No digestive problems. At 12 years old, and being a large breed (shepherd-malamute mix) she is doing pretty well on this food. My ONE REAL COMPLAINT about the Senior Plus formula, though, is that more often than not, when the food arrives, it is about 30-60% (depending on each shipment) basically un-usable for our dog. Too much of the food is completely crushed, to very small crumbs that she has a hard time eating, due to her having both upper large chewing teeth removed in the past. The larger pieces of food are easier for her to eat, and when she tries to eat the small crumbs, they get stuck in her throat, and then she starts gagging, coughing, trying to get it un-stuck. So, I'm forced to pick through every bowl of food, separating the larger pieces from the crumbs, so she can eat without too much trouble. Because of the way this food is made, I've been told by customer service several times that there's nothing they can do about the small crumbs. The thing is, we never had this problem until about 2 years ago. Sure, there was always some amount of crushed crumbs, but nothing major. So, something has changed since then. Bottom line, we end up throwing a LOT of this food away, and with such high prices to begin with, that does not make me a happy camper. If our dog would eat anything else, I would be switching her away from the FRR food. As far as future dogs go for us, I'm thinking this may leave too much of a negative taste in our mouth, and we will probably not use FRR for other dogs we may adopt in the future.
This is the only dog food that my picky yorkie likes. Im already on my 3rd bag- I do supplement with cooked ground beef once a day.. His stool does not smell bad at all. He has great energy and soft shiny fur. I order from the frrco website. They ship fast. Highly recommend. By the way the only flavor my yorkie likes is the original kibble.
