Hello. Can anyone tell me which would be a better dry kibble for my Dobie pup? I am currently feeding Innova Large Breed Puppy dry. I am considering switching to Go Natural Chicken & Vegetable dry. The protein and fat content of both foods is in the correct range for my pup according to the breeder. Reason for considering change - feed store carries Go Natural and Innova must be special ordered. Thank so much for your help!

Petcurean foods are made by menu the one who had all the recalls in 2007. I do not know how they are now though! I would check into it and menu may be fine now. I am just leery of menu products with all their recalls in 2007 but hey its 2009 now so who knows. I am sure someone may have more info. for you! I love Innova but I have no info other than knowing menu foods had tons of recalls back in 2007 and petcurena which is made by menu I have not ever used this product! Check out some sights on menu and petcurean! What I see sounds like a great product grainless and good but I know with high protein contents you need to be careful with large breed pups I know if its too high in protien should be for adult dogs only! But you said its the same as your feeding so should be fine then! But from what I have seen seems like a great food!

There is not that much difference between the two. I would get the cheapest and easiest one to get.

I am a HUGE Natura (they make Innova) fan. If it were me, I'd stick with Innova. The Innova has a shorter ingredient list and more meat in it than Go Natural. Natura sprays probiotics on their foods after it is cooked and cooled, which benefits digestion and helps to keep the good flora in the gut balanced.

Also, Nautra products have never (knock on wood) been affected by recalls.

I love Natura because they truly put the animals' health and well-being ahead of profits.

I am a believer in sticking to what works for your dog... and you already know that Innova works :)

I am sorry you have a hard time getting Innova... could you talk to the store owner about keeping it in stock for you?

I like Natura, too. I currently feed a small amount of Healthwise which is made by Natura. I feed mostly fresh foods. Healthwise is a decent quality line and is priced a bit cheaper than Innova.
For some reason, they have a limited customer base for Innova. I heard that Innova recently changed the formula and now the food contains fewer calories. Not sure if this is true, though. Also, Go Natural is made in Canada and the feed store may get a better deal. Thanks very much for your recommendations.

Where did you hear that they changed the formula?
Since you're right up there in Canada, have you tried Orijen large breed puppy? My puppy is on it and will turn 1 year old this weekend and doing great. He's actually been eating both the Innova puppy canned and the Orijen puppy dry and is big and healthy and actually slightly underweight so I have no issues at all with him on the high protein of Orijen. You shouldn't have any trouble finding it by you.
